Being in London for the first time, we wanted to make our dining experience memorable, and choosing Papi’s for lunch turned out to be the perfect decision. At first glance, the restaurant’s exterior seemed a bit unusual, as it appeared to be more of a butcher shop than a restaurant. We almost questioned our choice when we first walked up, but that all changed the moment we stepped inside. After entering through what looked like a freezer door, we were amazed to find ourselves in an entirely different world—a cozy, upscale dining space hidden away from the bustle outside. It was such a clever and unexpected transition, adding an element of surprise and wonder right at the start of our experience. The ambiance inside was absolutely wonderful—dim lighting, elegant decor, and a sense of intimacy that made it feel like a secret spot only a few people knew about. The attention to detail in creating that atmosphere was impressive. It felt welcoming but still had that refined edge, giving it the air of a fine dining restaurant. The transformation from butcher shop to dining room was magical in itself. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the staff with a complimentary sparkling wine, and their hospitality made us feel right at home. Our server, Kyle, was excellent from start to finish. He was attentive without being intrusive, which made a big difference in allowing us to relax and enjoy the meal. Kyle had a great understanding of the menu and was able to offer helpful recommendations, which really enhanced our experience. His ability to guide us through the meal and make us feel cared for is something that stood out. The food, of course, was the real highlight. Every dish we tried was beautifully presented and tasted even better than it looked. You could tell the ingredients were fresh and carefully selected. The flavors were balanced perfectly, and each bite seemed thoughtfully crafted. We’ve dined at many places over the years, but the quality of both the food and the service at Papi’s set it apart. There’s a real artistry to what they do here, and it’s clear that a lot of passion and expertise goes into every aspect of the dining experience. Having been to a variety of restaurants, I can confidently say that Papi’s is a place that could easily earn a Michelin star. Everything from the innovative setting, to the outstanding service, to the delicious food, was simply top-notch. It’s the kind of place that leaves a lasting impression, and one that I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting London. Papi’s has truly mastered the balance of creativity and quality, and it’s a dining experience that we won’t soon forget.
We had a nice diner here. Great ambiance and overall “feel” Table side ceasar salad was OK, not great. We tried to engage with the person making it but she wasn’t interested in conversation Rib eye was great, as was the tenderloin. Scallops were good as were the sides of Mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts and sautéed shrimp. The 5% atmosphere charge is an insult to an otherwise good meal
This was an entire experience! From the moment we arrived everyone was so nice and welcoming. An absolutely beautiful dining experience. The crystal chandeliers were mesmerizing! Jesse was an amazing server and joined us in our banter. So many laughs! We ordered plenty of drinks and he definitely was on his toes with us! John made our amazing Caesar salad in front of us. Then came back to make our banana flambé. AND then he made our baileys coffee. So delicious and what a show making it! We also enjoyed a few expresso martini. The tomahawk steak was something we've always wanted to try and absolutely perfect. We will go back for sure. Not too soon! A little pricey. But like I said. It's not just a meal. It's an experience! PS! Use the bathroom. It's pretty great! :)
Great dining experience, and the Kellogg building really has a lot to offer too. Greeted warmly, complimentary drink, and a nice table, great atmosphere. Ceasar salad - tasty dressing. Bone marrow with escargot - what a great painting T-bone and a strip loin (leftovers) - one grass fed, one grain fed - got to taste the difference. Excellent meats Sides - crispy brussel sprouts will be a must-reorder for us. Mashed - great also And a bananas Foster - great evening. Not rushed, part of a bottle of wine. And great memories. Thank you
Anniversary Dinner at Papi’s and it was excellent. This hidden gem at 100 Kellogg Lane in London, Ontario is a wonderful addition to the restaurant scene here. You enter through a butcher shop to a luxurious restaurant with a lovely bar and intimate restaurant. We had Caesar salad made at the table which was very good. Then we had a tenderloin and a sirloin steak with brussel sprouts and double stuffed potatoes. The side dishes are extra and are served family style. Everything was perfectly cooked and the Malbec from Argentina that accompanied our meal was superb. As I had been last October for lunch with some friends, I was happy to see that they have removed the 5% atmosphere tax!!! Although this meal was expensive - in line with New York, Toronto, Montreal, Chicago etc it was well worth the money and a great place to go for a ‘special’ dinner! We will certainly be back!
What an incredible experience. We received a text the day of the reservation to ask if there was any special occasion for why we were dining there. They ended up personalizing our menu based on what we said was the special occasion which was a beautiful personal touch. We arrived at the Kellogg's building and went to Mona's butcher shop. The employee working went through an overview of the various types of meats they offer including Waygu and Japanese steak. We then entered the freezer door to get to this exquisite speakeasy. The service was incredible, prompt and our server answered all our questions and was very easy to talk to. They even gave me a stool for my purse to ensure it was not on the floor. Music was a bit all over the place from rap to Elvis but it wasn't too loud. There was a gorgeous piano I wish there was live music playing but either way, you felt very special to be in that space. Food came out very quickly and was by far the best steak we have ever had. I love the family style where you can share with who you are with. Everything from the dining area to bathroom were so well designed and very high class. It's a nice change for London and the chefs clearly know what they are doing regarding prepping the food. Best bone marrow I've ever had. The shrimp accompaniment was delicious. Marrow gravy was delicious on the potatoes and the steak- cooked perfect. Medium rare as it should be. The quality was impeccable. The food was delicious. Eager to try brunch/ lunch next which they offer on weekends. Prices are high for dinner but worth it. This is by far the most fine dining restaurant in London Ontario.
Finally was able to spend a great evening here with friends. Definitely THE place to experience for a high end steakhouse experience. The ambiance, food, cocktails and servers were fantastic. Even the bathrooms are a must visit (no more details)
Went to celebrate a birthday. Overall, great atmosphere. A lot of photos to admire. Got to try the Hokkaido wagyu - melts in your mouth. The bone marrow and escargot was good especially with their celery bread, it's soo fluffy. One of the best mac 'n cheese and mash potatoes. The creme bruele was good especially with the fruit- refreshing. Shared the meal with the party and was able to try a lot of dishes.
